Brainstorm on a deserted island…

I suppose if you were brainstorming on a deserted island you’d come up with a lot of stuff because there wouldn’t be anyone there to distract you.  :-)

Speaking of distracted I thought I already put this post up but I can’t find it anywhere so here it goes.

When I imagined a deserted island I saw a row of sandcastles along the beach.  It made me wonder how they got there since the island is deserted.  My current theory is that the sand forms itself into the castles… we’ll see where the story leads.

  1. Here is a post from Dawn that you might not see otherwise…

My phrase for a deserted island is “a lonely wind breathed through the trees”

I love the lonely wind – I could hear its sighing breath rustle the leaves on the trees. Fantastic!

  2. The quiet deserted island came alive with noise with the full moon . . .

If no human ever lived there is the island still considered deserted?

    • This immediately made me think of some questions – What kind of noise would the moon make? Can you only hear it on a deserted island?

I’d love it if the moon was some kind of serenading jazz singer. Hey, maybe that’s where we got the phrase “moonlight serenade”.

      Thanks for sharing!

      • Your questions spawned responses immediately:

The moon jazzsinger can only be hear on the island where one is tuned in for accompaniment. Populated spaces are too full of distracting details.

The lyrics and style change with the phases of the moon. Ocean waves mixed with the prevailing winds create the percussion.

Now: What other noise does the moon make?
I have often imagined the moon to be a story teller. New stories are begun with the full moon ebbing and flowing through the plot finishing with the next full moon which leads to the start of a new story. The stories are a sustenance of life, growth and understanding allowing the listener to communicate with the wind.
